Pam Dudley, MSW, LCSW
Pam is a writer, therapist, and motivational speaker.
As Director of My Write Mind, LLC Counseling Center, Pam joins two of her passions: writing and inspiring hope and healing in others. Pam has been in the human services field for more than thirty years and a social worker for twenty years. She advocates smashing the stigma that blocks mental wellness.
Pam received her Masters in Social Work from Howard University with an emphasis in direct clinical practice. She studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the Beck Institute. She has received more than 500 hours of additional clinical training.
During her decades of dedicated service in the helping profession, Pam has walked beside thousands of people dealing with issues including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addiction, creative blocks, relationship issues, chronic health issues, and homelessness. She enjoys incorporating writing, art, drama, poetry, and songwriting in her work.
Pam initially studied creative writing in Professor Nikki Giovanni’s first course at VA Tech. Seated to the left of Professor Giovanni, in a circle of 12 students, Pam’s passion for writing was ignited. She continues her studies in creative writing with her writing coach, Laura Oliver, and mentor, Vinx, award-winning songwriter, storyteller and Berkeley Professor.
She is a member of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, a founding member of Life Story Professionals of the Greater Washington Area, and a certified facilitator of Guided Autobiography, a group writing process that guides participants in writing their life stories. Pam is also a long-time member of the Mitchellville (Bowie) Writers’ Group and the Songwriters’ Soul Kitchen collective.
